Easter Sunday

Happy Easter one and all!
The weather has been bright and sunny for most of today. We woke up this morning to brilliant , intensely blue sky and apart from a few periods of cloud, the day has had a cheery spring like feel to it.

Easter lunch was predominately an M&S affair.

Starter: M&S crispy aromatic duck - Ross suggestion
Main course: M&S steak pie with roasted parsnip, sweet potato and celeriac, and asparagus.

We were going to have cheeses, grapes and berry+jelly terrine (M&S) to finish but we ate too much chocolate so we're going to leave it till later!
Maybe even postpone it till tomorrow.

Let's go for Los Gigantas...

The last of the golf is on tonight so I've made myself scarce.

This first photo was taken down at the harbour.


I should have taken a picture of the huge fish that were swimming around in the water below, attracted by the bread being fed to them!

The next three photos were taken in the restaurant in Los Gigantas where we had lunch. Very nice and reasonably priced too!



This was my introduction to 'Canary Potatoes'.
They're cooked in their jackets with lots of salt.
I thought they were really good.
They reminded me of potatoes cooked on the beach in sea water when I was a wee girl.

Luca preferred chips, Craig's to be precise...possibly the reason for his expression in the photo above! Craigs, possibly Luca's as well now that I look at it!

We had a little wander around the harbour after lunch...


...and then having seen all the adverts for boat trips to see the whales and the dolphins, Ian tracked down a little boat at the far end of the harbour which was ready to set sail.



Gary, Carole and Luca chose to shop, but the remainder of the crew set sail plastic cup of sangria in hand to catch sight of any dolphins that might be in the area.



We did see some...but I have no evidence. I think Craig snapped some on his camera.
Having sailed along the cliffs for about twenty minutes, we docked long enough to pick up a boatload of walkers and then sailed back... with plenty views of the dolphins to make us happy.


Why are there so many photos of Lucy and Braeden and so few/none of anyone else?
Because they were sitting opposite me...simple!

A word of advice to anyone who visits Los Gigantas...

There is an impressive cake shop just up the hill and round the corner from the harbour...go and buy your choice of cake early on in the day. Carry it around with you all day, or have the folk in the shop set it aside, but don't assume, as we did, that it will still be there when you get back!

Little Braeden fell in love with a chocolate eclaire complete with hundreds and thousands when we first visited the cake shop, but we decided to go and have lunch then revisit the shop later in the day... mistake - his cake was gone! :(

At the end of the day, after the supermarketeers got home, the chefs set to work preparing our evening meal, and here they are...

Not one of my better photos...it should've been focussed on the boys, not the shopping but then again, being a marketeer, I probably couldn't help myself!


To finish the day, I took this photo of Ian in our bedroom when we were all locked in for the night.
